چکیده

Abstract Aim Liver damage is frequently encountered in patients with cardiovascular (CV) disease, due to congestion or metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). It has been shown that associated worse outcomes CV disease. Nevertheless, the association of cardiac structure and function events heart failure reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) poorly known. Methods We retrospectively enrolled consecutive HFrEF undergoing Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) Imaging. In addition standard T1-mapping, 3 regions interest were also defined at parenchyma. Patients stratified according hepatic T1 mapping. Linear regression analysis adjusted for demographics clinical characteristics was performed cross-sectionally examine between T1-time on CMR measures function. The Kaplan-Meier survival Cox analyses prospectively investigate composite adverse outcome hospitalization HF all-cause death. Results Overall, 106 included study (mean age 56 ± 14 years, 75% male). Mean 558 70 ms. logistic analysis, left-ventricle (LV) end-diastolic volume (EDV) (p = 0.027), left atrial (LAV) 0.015), right-ventricle (RV) EDV < 0.001) RVEF 0.035) positively T1-time. Over a mean follow-up 5 2 32 (30%) experienced rate 6.7 per 100 person-year. higher independently an increased risk developing (adjusted-hazard ratio 1.07, 95% confidence interval: 1.01–1.12, p 0.011). particular, ≥558 ms had compared those <558 (log-rank 0.02). Conclusion Among CMR, significantly poorer size Hepatic rates all-cause-mortality. This parameter may be useful stratify outcomes.

Cardiac magnetic resonance postcontrast T1 time is associated with outcome in patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction.

BACKGROUND The underlying pathophysiology of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF) is incompletely understood, but myocardial extracellular matrix accumulation is thought to play a major role. Our aims were to estimate myocardial extracellular matrix using cardiac magnetic resonance T1 mapping and to assess the relationship between pathobiology/pathophysiology and prognosis. ...

Cardiac and Hepatic T2*-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Abstract Background Iron overload is the main transfusion related side effects in patients with transfusion dependent hemoglobinopathies. Severe iron deposition in tissues leads to organ dysfunction. Many organs can be affected such as heart, liver, and endocrine organs. Cardiac failure and liver fibrosis are the consequent of Iron overload in transfusion dependent hemoglobinopathy. Magne...

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

Right atrial volume by cardiovascular magnetic resonance predicts mortality in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction

BACKGROUND Right Atrial Volume Index (RAVI) measured by echocardiography is an independent predictor of morbidity in patients with heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The aim of this study is to evaluate the predictive value of RAVI assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) for all-cause mortality in patients with HFrEF and to assess its additive contribution to the va...
